Three Steps To Improve Your Emotional Intelligence

  1. Ask yourself if your internal state is caused by emotion or something physical such as lack of sleep or low blood sugar
  2. Don't limit your internal assessments to general statements like, "I feel great or I feel awful". According to Oluv, this does not help you figure out how to cope with your feelings and it does not help others how to help either. So if your having a bad day you should force yourself to smile and tell your mind that you are having a beautiful day, doing this will change your surrounding to a more congenially fashion.
  3. Expand your emotions by using vocabulary just like an expert in fine wine or Jewelry. Improving your skill in vocabulary will help you perceive important differences that novices can't.
