The News before Christmas 2007
It’s only right that I talk about my news first this weekend before Christmas. So as I start I must say the malls all over the Connecticut state was so over crowded that it started looking like a pack prison for women having a riot with victoria secret, Nordstrom’s, Gap, Macy’s, H&M, and any others Christmas colorfully store bags that came to mind but with out the correctional Officers in sight.
I will be the first to admit, I did not plan to do a big shopping extravaganza this year, but my mom made sure I stuck my body into the holiday joy after all. My mother won a massive amount of money from the casino on the 22nd of this month (It was Her Birthday!) playing the slots and causing havoc with the roulette table, bringing home a whopping $11,000 from Foxwoods casino. Therefore, we just went shopping up a storm. That’s my story folks!

New Orlean's Fight for Public Housing
After violent clashes with police at City Hall, protesters vowed that the fight over a plan to demolish 218 public housing buildings for the poor was far from over, both in the courts and on the streets.
On Thursday, police used chemical spray and stun guns on protesters who tried to force their way into a City Council meeting where the members voted unanimously to allow the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to demolish 4,500 public housing units.

Wall Street extended last week's losses Monday as investors remained skeptical that the Federal Reserve's first credit auction will loosen up a tight market.
The Fed, responding to a flagging economy that some fear is headed for recession, is offering $20 billion in 28-day credit through an auction Monday. The aim of the auction is to encourage commercial banks to borrow from the central bank, and in turn, boost banks' lending to businesses and consumers.

How does it feel to have crossed over to the mainstream?
I guess it's a privilege for me - sometimes it does shock me that it's taken this long for an Asian artist to go mainstream. My main goal is to make a stamp on the mainstream and stay there.
Why aren't there more British Asian artists in the mainstream?
There is talent - it's just undiscovered. In the mainstream, an Asian person singing R&B music is still very rare. I'm sure when the first black soul artist came along followed by the second, third and fourth, eventually it wasn't a matter of it being "specialist" - it became the norm.
I'm still a very specialist thing. People say "Jay Sean the Asian R&B", but in reality I just happen to be an Asian who sings R&B. They don't call Eminem "white hip-hop". I think the time will come when more Asians will come through, but it will take some time.
Do you think the music industry is ignoring Asian artists?
I just think they're oblivious, that's all - it's just they don't know about the scene. We're still an ethnic minority in this country and I think if one of the big execs from some major radio station came down to a Mela in Bradford and saw me performing in front of 80,000 people who all know my songs - they'd probably be surprised and want to know what's going on.
They just don't know because it's not in their world. Just as I am sure there is some amazing Filipino artist somewhere in England who has millions of screaming Filipino girls after him, but we'd never know unless we went into that world and actively went out to discover it.
Tell us about the single ?
Ride It is just a fun, sexy R&B track - it's nothing life-changing. It's a story about a girl and a guy who play games when they clearly know they're into each other but they act like they're not.
I tried to be clever with the lyrics and make it more of a story, name drop a few places in London to paint a better picture.
It seems to resonate with the fans - fingers crossed it's doing well so far.

Angel tree program saves the needy children
CUMBERLAND — Hundreds of dolls, trucks, stuffed animals and other toys at local collection sites are looking forward to being covered in holiday wrapping paper and being placed under Christmas trees where they will find their way into the arms of grateful children on Christmas morning.While donations have been down across the board, local organizations make sure children on their lists do not go without toys under their trees.
Through a variety of initiatives, the Salvation Army is able to provide toys to more than 500 children in Allegany County every year. In addition to collecting toys and monetary donations for the toy shop, which is set up to allow parents to select toys for their children, and making arrangements for local clubs and organizations to stuff stockings, the Salvation Army has begun a new angel tree program. I’ve learned in the past month, that in order to improve my Blog site (Oluv’s Outré); I would have to gain access to at least 1000 readers a day. So I decided to read what others are blogging about just to get a glance on what direction I need to go to magnetize my viewers to my blog.
As you can see I am still not there yet but I can see the fire flaming up to status, so I can say it’s working well so far. Further, more if it wasn’t working you would not be reading this post right now; I would still be at the bottom of the barrel like the worm in a tequila bottle.
I have gone to many sites and these few sites caught my attention Saturday Dec.15 2007. The first site I had visited was a webblog site that has created to help other bloggers who is interested in online Business blogging called, “Entrepreneur’s Journey” by Yaro Starak.
After entering Yaro’s site, He also had links and useful tips on how to gain more traffic then you could imagine and to add his on blog traffic school which is how I gained access to blogsquad founder, Patsi Krakoff who has written about how she double her traffic on her blog site named “Ezine”.
She concluded that her traffic increased because she did the following things:
Wrote to her blog everyday - This one makes so much sense but it’s something most bloggers don’t do. I tend to go through spurts of motivation where I write regularly and well, it’s pretty obvious, the more good stuff you put out there, the more good stuff you get back in terms of blog traffic. Patsi’s blogging experience is testament to this concept.
She wrote a provocative title - Have I mentioned how important titles are in blog posts? If I haven’t yet here in this blog I really should have, it’s littered throughout every blog traffic teaching resource I have ever written, spoken about and read or listened to from other successful bloggers. Your blog article titles are THE most important element.
She finishes with a recommendation to keep at it for the long term - Again some reasonably obvious advice you might hear over and over again - but do you implement it over and over again? Patsi’s been blogging for over two years now at her ezine coaching blog and she says it takes time to earn rewards.
Some Advice to all the bloggers that view my site, Don’t give up! Stick to your topics, stay focus and don’t stop blogging. Thanks goes to Yaro Starak

Jamie Leigh Jones, now 22, says that after she was raped by multiple men at a KBR camp in the Green Zone, the company put her under guard in a shipping container with a bed and warned her that if she left Iraq for medical treatment, she'd be out of a job.
"Don't plan on working back in Iraq. There won't be a position here, and there won't be a position in Houston," Jones says she was told.

Vick sentence to 23 months for Dogfighting

RICHMOND, Virginia- Pro Football player Michael Vick gets sentenced to 23 months in prison for financing a dogfighting ring and helping to kill pit bulls that did not fight aggressively.
During a 90 minute sentencing hearing, Vick apologized to his family, close friends, and U.S. District Judge Henry E. Hudson. By watching this hearing the judge didn't seem Vick's apology was taken to heart.
"You need to apologize also to the millions of young people who look up to you," Judge Henry E. Hudson severely replied. Next, Vick continued apologizing to his fans and supporters as Animal rights protesters and (PETA) lined up outside the courthouse. Some carried signs with photographs of dogs, while others read "Dogs deserve justice," and "Report dog fighters."
Vick and three co-defendants still faces an April trial on state dogfighting charges that can lead up to 5 to 10 years in prison. We hope Vick can learn a lesson and improve this situation by helping and stop the decrease the cruelty of dog fighting.
